The Cabin

This past weekend the kids didn't have school on Friday so we went up to the cabin. Bethanee wanted to have a sleepover with her cousin Bella, so it was just me and my boys...... all 4 of them :) The weather couldn't have been more perfect, the kids had so much fun playing outside. They played in the spring which was running pretty good for this time of year, they got a little wet, but didn't care because it was 85 outside!


That evening when it started to get dark we went out spotlighting for deer and other animals, something we do every time. They love it, we put the seats down so when they get tired they can lay down and go to sleep and Benj and I get some alone time. We saw a lot of deer, Jonathen and Gus love how their eyes "glow" in the spotlight. They would get so excited to who would find one first. We saw some turkey and porcupines as well. We got to bed late and were so happy when everyone slept in till 8:45!! That never happens!! I can't remember the last time we slept in that late...... might not be late to some of you, but we have 4 kids and 1 is always up before that and wakes everyone else up. Usually Bethanee, which is probably why we all got some sleep....... she wasn't there. I love her, but it was nice to sleep in. Sorry Mary, you got the brunt of it Sat. morning :)



Saturday morning we let the boys do their FAVORITE THING to do at the cabin. Shoot their dad's 22. Don't be alarmed, they have been taught gun safety Many, Many times. And we go over it again each time before they shoot. They are very well educated on guns, don't worry mom. Benj is right to the right of this picture loading the clips. You can see how excited they are :)
Nicolas always aims at the target he wants ( you can't see them in this picture, but they are right to the right of that big tree. They're small metal targets, some circles, one's a pig and another is a cow.) Then he unloads through the clip as fast as he can. He is really good and is becoming a great shot! He can't wait to go deer hunting with his dad when he is old enough.


Jonathan aims, shots once, aims again, shots once, it is so cute! He loves that he is Big enough to hold the gun all by himself now. He is getting really good as well, he also knows how to line up the shot like Nicolas and by far this is their favorite thing to do.


This was Zac's fist time ever shooting a gun. He was SO HAPPY! It was so cute, evertime after he, and daddy, shot, he would look at me with the biggest smile on his face. I tried to get a picture, but then he would turn back towards the target ready to shot again! My boys are growing up so fast! Benj is the best dad in the world! THANKS FOR TAKING US TO THE CABIN! We love you!....Jonathan wanted me to add that, but I agree with him 110%
